The founder of the Bulgari brand is Sotirio Boulgaris who was a sole heir to an inheritance from prominent Greek silversmiths. Greece was in a lot of trouble during that time in the 19th century and Sotirio moved to Corfu and started a shop there in 1870. Soon the young designer began to flourish and moved to Italy in 1880. He further got into designing accessories like belts and buttons and all kinds of bracelets which became quite popular and soon there were outlets in San Remo, St. Moritz, Sorrento and Bellagio. Since then the Bulgari name is known for branded quality accessories and its unconventional styles.
