Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel was the founder of the Chanel brand which was actually a fashion house in Paris in 1909. She was also the major designer of the items that came from the fashion house and she died in 1971. Gabrielle was a very successful businesswoman along with a talented designer and she even released her own fragrance soon enough that did wonders and brought the brand a lot of popularity. Chanel 5 was a fragrance named after her favorite and lucky number. Her most quoted phrase was: "Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance" and that is exactly what her brand was like -- effortless and classy -- a daring combination.
